This cel depicts the character Doll Licca from the series Super Doll Licca Chan. Her owner is a 3rd grader Licca Kayama who is the princess of the Doll Kingdom. An evil character named Dr. Scarecrow is after her so he can control the kingdom. To protect her granddaughter, Licca Kayama’s grandmother gives her 3 dolls who are the Doll Knights. They are charged to protect the girl. Each doll is called forth through a bracelet worn by Lica Kamaya See cel below). Doll Licca fights with the use of a magical yo-yo called “Light Spinner” which can be seen in her hand in the cel.
The series was released in 1998 and is based on actual fashion dolls. A short film and a manga were also created based on the series.
