Satoru Tachibana (or Joe in most English translations) is an old friend of Yuu’s. He appears at the beginning of the series when he takes Yuu in after finding him apparently beaten up by a gang. Satoru works as a pilot at the I.M.O (International Military Organization) and suggests that Yuu join him.
