This cel is the perfect introduction to the 1997-8 series Chou-Mashin Eiyuuden Wataru. The core characters in this show are pictured. They include (from left) Sacred Tree (Seijyu), Himiko Shinobibe, Tsurugibe, Shibaraku, and Wataru Ikusabe. In this scene, the group arrives successfully on level five, where they are shown reacting to the new city they discover there.
The series is a sequel to the OVA Mashin Eiyuden Wataru: Warinaki Toki no Monogatari which was released in 1993. All of the Wataru anime series and games include a mix of comedy, fantasy, Mecha, and action.
