This cel appears near the end of Di Gi Charat – A Trip To The Planet Movie when, yes, cat girl Dejiko goes back to visit her parents on her home planet where she is known as Princess Chokolla. Once she arrives at her parents’ castle she makes an excited leap towards the screen and her face fills it completely.

Mangaka Koge-Donbo* (the asterik is part of her name) created Di Gi Charat which became a 4 tankoubon manga. A TV series, movies, OVAs, specials, and games based on the manga have been released. Dejiko was also adopted as the mascot of Broccoli’s retail chain store, Gamers.

The short movie was directed by Hiroaki Sakurai and animated by Madhouse.
