Jun is not like most demons. When she becomes one, she still possesses her humanity. Most demons do not remember what their lives were like before they changed. They become monsters. Jun is tasked with seeking out these demons, turning into one herself, and battling them in hopes of destroying them.
Even in human form, Jun can detect other demons. This cel shows her in episode 8 when she finds the demon who changed on a live TV news program.
