Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, 1 layer, A3, no sketch, non-matching background, MOVIE
Meier Link is one of the main characters in Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. With his face half in shadow, this is a rather sinister-looking image of the vampire.
A MadHouse movie, Bloodlust is a visually striking film directed and storyboarded by Yoshiaki Kawajiri. The character D. (who is a Dhampir) was designed by Yoshitaka Amano who illustrated the novel series by Hideyuki Kikuchi on which the movie was based. The remaining character design by Yoshiaki Kawajiri was made to match the style of D. The story that the movie was based on was the 3rd novel Demon Deathchase.
Bloodlust was made to appeal to an American audience. Work started in 1997 and the movie had a limited release in 2000 in the US. When it was shown in Japan, it used the English soundtrack and Japanese subtitles.
