Devilman Lady (also known as Devil Lady) is based on a manga sequel series by Go Nagai, his follow-up to Devilman. Devilman Lady was made into a 26-episode series which ran from 1998-99. The director, Toshiki Hirano, also directed the two Vampire Princess Miyu series along with many others. Three people worked on character design, and two were tasked exclusively with designing monsters. Multiple anime studios were also involved.
The anime’s story was altered from the manga. For example, Jun Fudo works as a model, not a teacher, and she lives alone, not with her brother.
Asuka Ran is a scientist developing a secret project to find a human that can turn into a demon while still possessing their humanity. As can be seen in the cel, Jun has become her subject.
