Key the Metal Idol, 1 layer, no sketch, A6, no background, OVA
This was the very first Key the Metal Idol cel I purchased. It is one of my favorites.
Frail waifish Tokiko Mima, nicknamed “Key”, leaves her home in a remote mountain village to travel to Tokyo. There she hopes to make 30,000 friends so she can become human. Soon after she arrives, Key meets up with an old friend, makes new ones, and becomes fascinated by a popular idol singer, Miho Utsuse. She quickly realizes that Idol singers have many, many friends.
The series was released starting in 1994 and ended in 1997. There are 15 episodes: 13 shorter ones, and the last 2 are movie-length. The series is a mix of sci-fi, supernatural, and mecha.
